Beginning Drama Workshop is a writing course designed to explore the genre viaextensive writing, revising and critiquing original works by the class. Dramatic literature (assigned readings) willserve to exemplify the possibilities of the genre (scene, one-act, play) and beused for analysis of the writing process. Writing and evaluating dramaticdialogue with consideration of the problems of form, characterization andaction. Students will complete either a one-act play or series of scenes aspart of a full length drama. The course culminates in a produced Reading of studentwriting. 3 hours lecture
