Description:
The need for independent-minded, ethical and responsible journalists has never been greater. Neither has the need for enlightened readers. The profileration of blogs and Web sites, and the growing cacaphony of cable television outlets and radio talk shows has compressed and refashioned the news cycle. News, information and disinformation is
disseminated almost instantly around the clock and around the world.
This course is designed to train producers and consumers of news how to be discriminating in this rapidly-evolving multi-media landscape, and to develop an appreciation for the mission of the press in ademocratic society.
