ENWR 204 is an intensive course designed for students from all majors who are interested in expository writing. This is not a substitute for a first-year writing course, but will instead provide students with additional opportunities to develop their expository writing skills This section of the course will emphasize the relationship between documentary films and non-fiction writing. What aspects of argumentation, persuasion and evidentiary claims do these expository forms share? What are the major differences between them? How are visual and written arguments combined in contemporary media to make convincing claims about society and the world? Prior experience with film studies or documentary film studies is not required.
