The course will strengthen students’ abilities for discipline-specific textual and critical reading –- close reading chief among those -- and writing before being asked to read and write from multiple theoretical perspectives. The central topic will change from term to term; consult with the instructor about this. The subject matter for this term will include fiction, reporting, poetry and film from different countries involved in the First World War.
