Description:
This course is a basic, hands-on workshop, devoted mainly to writing short stories. It provides a grounding in the elements of plot, character, dialogue, tone, setting, and theme, as well as revision. Students are expected to write at least three short pieces and two stories during the semester. The readings will be mainly student work, along with stories from an anthology.
