Description:
In this course, we will address narratives of immigration and migration in recent multi-ethnic American fiction and film. We will address the classic “immigrant narrative” and also revisions and disruptions of this American myth in the cultural representations we consider. Authors we will read may represent Haitian, Puerto Rican, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Cuban immigrant and diasporic communities in the U.S.
Fulfills the World Languages and Cultures Requirement - World Cultures.
