In Introduction to Fiction Writing we will be examining the various elements of storytelling including (but not limited to) characterization, plot, tone, setting, and theme. We will be reading and workshopping student work mostly, but will also look at examples of other authors' work from our class text and elsewhere. This class will also be focused on the revision as well as the generative process of fiction writing. The course will provide the student with a solid foundation for further study of the writing craft.
