Description:
Beginning Drama Workshop is a writing course designed to explore the genre via extensive writing, revising and critiquing original works by the class. Dramatic literature (assigned readings) will serve to exemplify the possibilities of the genre (scene, one-act, play) and be used for analysis of the writing process. Writing and evaluating dramatic dialogue with consideration of the problems of form, characterization and action. Students will complete either a one-act play or series of scenes as part of a full length drama. The course culminates in a produced Reading of student writing. 3 hours lecture
