When There Were Poetesses Who Wore Corsets:
When did “Women’s Lib” come to Women Writers? How did women ingeniously find ways to function as writers in the patriarchy of their times? This course focuses on women poets prior to 1900, their specific writings published, and the social/literary environment in which they wrote. We will investigate and illuminate each work in depth and understand their achievements. Interactive Dialogue in class discussion is required of each student.
