Description:
This course is designed for those students who are inspired to keep writing poetry, who are excited about pushing themselves as poets, who are interested in responding to poems they admire by engaging in their own experiments with language! We will write in a workshop environment. We will explore a variety of traditions as well as learn some basics of prosody (the music of verse). We’ll also discuss specific aspects of poetic craft such as diction, metaphor, repetition, stanza, and the line. Your attendance and participation are crucial to your success in this class.
Prerequisites: ENWR 212 (or ENWR 200 adjusted to 212 credit).
