Description:
This course will address the issue of reflexivity in film, using a variety of international texts—silent and sound, narrative and documentary, mainstream and independent. We will examine works that address such issues as the nature of the film medium and the filmmaking process, the material of film, the relationship between film and reality, and the impact of film on our lives.

Requirements: weekly film screening, active class discussion, weekly participation in the course web site, readings on reserve, mid-term, final.

Schedule: Tuesday From 2:30 pm To 5:15 pm
