Description:
The focus will be on understanding how a feature piece is conceived, researched and written. Students will work on a wide variety of skills including reporting, interviewing and writing. Creating good leads, a sense of character and place, and writing for specific audiences and venues including print and online will be emphasized as we work on a variety of pieces, such as a news peg feature, a profile, a how-to article, a travel feature, a review, a first person short essay feature, among others.
