Description:
This course reads literature by and about African American women. We will read the works from socio-historical and Black Feminist perspectives. Significant attention is given to the unique strategies and structures distinguishing an African American female aesthetic and critical tradition. Three essays, group presentation and weekly written responses to the works are required. Meets the World Language and Culture Requirements -- World Cultures.
