Description:
A focus on the essay as a non-fiction genre, as students are asked to read and analyze model essays and to write their own essays, based upon assigned topics and themes. Part of each class will be conducted like a writing workshop, where there will be peer review and/or students will share their work with the class as a whole. Weekly writing (and reading) assignments will be given. Writing portfolio will be due at midterm time and at the end of the semester. A final self-assessment will also be required.
