This course gives you a foundation in the techniques used in fiction writing. You will explore the different aspects of the craft of fiction, including topics such as characterization, description, structure, and point of view. In addition, you will develop skills crucial to the creative process: critiquing fiction, reading analytically, and revising your work. During the course of the semester, you will write two short stories, offer constructive critique of your peers’ work, and engage in close analysis and discussion of the stories in our textbooks.
