The Politics of Memoir

In this class students will focus on how personal narratives can be recontexualized as representations of modern cultural shifts and movements (around race, gender, sexuality, and class). Reading for the class will include memoirs, essays, and cultural criticism. Students will complete a series of essays and work on a portfolio.
