A survey of major trends, writers, and works of English Literature from 1660 to the present, with a primary focus on poetry. This course is a good choice for sophomores or other students new to the study of English who want an overview of literary history.
It is also good preparation for English Education majors planning on taking the Praxis exam. It fulfills the genre requirement for POETRY, the requirements for CLASS ISSUES, WOMEN WRITERS, and GENDER STUDIES, and the pre-1900 LITERATURE/BRITISH LITERATURE.
