Description:
This course, taught by West Moss, is a basic, hands-on workshop, devoted mainly to writing short stories. It provides grounding in the elements of plot, character, dialogue, tone, setting, theme, and so on. Students are expected to write at least three short pieces and two stories during the semester. In addition, a final exam will ask the students for written criticism of each other's material. The readings will be mainly student work, along with stories from an anthology.
