Course details
Name: ENGL - 260
Title: ART POETRY
Section: 02
Semester: Fall - 2017
Credits: 3
Description:
THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE
Romantic-era poet Percy Bysshe Shelley claimed in the early nineteenth-century that poets are “the unacknowledged legislatures of the world.” Although fiction is currently the most popular form of literature, poetry is often the literary form people from all works of life use when they want to express everything from desire to rage to hope to love. In this class, we will learn how poems work, what makes us love (or hate) them, and how present they are in every part of our lives. Students will also learn the basic elements of poetry and critical analysis.
