The world will be celebrating the bicentennial of Mary Shelley's __Frankenstein__ next year, and in this class we will too. We will spend the semester reading the novel-- studying the texts that inform it, analyzing the textual changes Shelley made, and exploring how it lives in pop culture. In addition to traditional essays, students will be encouraged to explore various forms of writing.


Required Text: Mary Shelley's _Frankenstein_ (Norton, 1818 edition)
