Description:
This course introduces students to the craft of fiction writing. Students are expected to develop their skills through a variety of creative exercises, both in and out of class. They will produce two original short fiction works and one final revised work. Published stories will be analyzed and discussed, with an eye towards the craft of writing, including (but not limited to) character development, dialogue, point of view, and structure. Students are also expected to write peer reviews and give constructive criticism in the writing workshop.
