Description:
In this course, we will examine works of the late 20th and early 21st centuries from around the world. While we will look at a range of texts, including non-fiction prose, fiction, videos, and film, our approach will consider how these texts speak to key contemporary social issues such as globalization and environmentalism.

Works MAY include writing by Wangari Maathai (Kenya), Arundhati Roy (India), or Ken Saro-Wiwa (Nigeria) and films such as Joon-ho Bong’s Okja (South Korea/US).
