Description:
This course will address the aesthetic characteristics of global art cinema made after 2000 in relation to two key contemporary issues: neoliberalism and multiculturalism. We will study films made in France, Greece, Turkey, Senegal, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Germany, Argentina and Thailand. Grades will be based on weekly online assignments, an in-class midterm and a research paper.
