Description:
This course is designed for students advanced in and familiar with the craft of writing poetry in a workshop environment. Through writing exercises and readings drawn from a variety of aesthetic traditions, students will strive to improve their prosody and composition, form and construction—to write better poems, to establish their “voices,” to interrogate and weaponize poetic language. In this class, we will also explore the thorny questions of and problems presented by the poetic self.
