Course details
Name: ENLT - 502
Title: SEMINAR IN INTERNATIONAL LITERATURE
Section: 01
Semester: Fall - 2022
Credits: 3
Description:
This is a survey of LATIN AMERICAN LITERATURE.
I think you're in for a very exciting semester! The magical realism of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the poetry of Pablo Neruda, the labyrinths of Borges, the experimental prose of Clarice Lispector... this is some of the fascinating work we'll be exploring together. ** YOU DON'T NEED TO SPEAK SPANISH OR PORTUGUESE TO TAKE THIS CLASS; WE ARE READING THESE TEXTS IN ENGLISH (but I'm happy to talk about translation, if students are interested) **
Students will be asked to post writing entries on our discussion board on a weekly basis. Regarding more formal essays: I'll have a conversation with the class at the beginning of the semester to get a better idea of your needs, wishes and goals; this information will help me create our assignments and establish guidelines.
Looking forward!
