Description:
This course will extend your knowledge of the various fiction writing techniques, including plot, character, dialogue, description, setting, point of view, and time management. The workshop sessions will give you practice in critiquing your classmates’ fiction, a skill that will help you develop your own early drafts into completed stories. You will further develop your fiction writing through literary analysis, craft exercises, and revision assignments. During the semester, you will write one original short story, four short craft assignments, a response paper, and an extensive revision of your short story.
